Well, as the subject inherently entails, it's just before 5am at the time I began writing this post.
Now, one may question why I'm sober, awake, and quite possibly even [aware] of my surroundings at this point in time. Well, quite simply, I've been needing to take a break from the everyday cycle of
class | paper | class | newspaper | class | assignments | work | repeat and truthfully, I don't usually don't get much sleep, so it's quite normal in my instance.
Oh, and I haven't updated my art in quite some time ... not that I haven't created plenty more ... I just haven't made anything of
substance</i> in the past few - well, you can check the date on my last submission and find out how long it's been.
Anyway, back on topic (
ok, it's obvious i'm a bit tired by the rambling, but i digress) - the new
moe. album,
The Conch, is absolutely kick-ass. Granted, jam bands who are put into the studio are not in their natural habitat, but
moe. manages yet another very strong release. Although this album doesn't seem to define the guys or push the envelope like
Tin Cans and Car Tires or
Wormwood, it still kicks the hell out of most of the newer albums I've listened to in the past few months. No comment on the new
incubus album, by the way - I still regret not listening to that one yet.
It's safe to say that I'm a
moe.head in every sense of the word. I currently have
61 hours, 55 minutes, and 37 seconds of
moe. on my harddrive -
7 albums (including what I believe is the best wintertime CD,
Season's Greetings) and
18 (yes, 18) live sets, including their show @ the Electric Factory on 02/10/07 that I sadly missed.
Anyway, here's a
www.archive.org to archive.org, where over
1,500 moe. shows are online (the number grows with every show they play). And yes, it's free
and</i> legal, as well. Try to download the
VBR mp3 .zip files, if possible - it's the entire show in .mp3 format, broken up into tracks, just like the FLAC version .. only a much, much lighter download.
And sorry if this post seems a bit different from the rest .. like I said, it's late (just past 5.15am) and I need to get some sleep.
